Hard-Wired vs Battery Doorbells
Battery doorbells (Ring, Eufy battery models, Arlo) rely on internal lithium-ion batteries that need recharging every 1–3 months in real-world use typically more often in winter. Many users stop charging them and the doorbell falls out of service. Hard-wired doorbells use either an existing chime transformer or a new low-voltage transformer we install meaning permanent power, no batteries to charge, and continuous recording capability. For long-term reliability we strongly recommend hard-wired wherever the property allows.
